Exploring Mindset at Work

Exploring Mindset at Work

As they walk through the door each day are they motivated to succeed?  Mindset really does matter!

Poor judgement and mediocre thinking can be extremely costly.  Your organisation really needs colleagues who have the ability and mindset to continuously learn whilst fulfilling their role.

To survive in the current economic climate, you should nurture and develop individuals who will always take responsibility and accountability for achieving their objectives.  These are the colleagues that will be your organisation’s leading lights!  It is also important to understand that leading lights are not always managers, but all these employees have the common personality trait of a “Growth Mindset”.

So how can you spot individuals with a natural “Growth Mindset”?

There are some simple indicators to look for:

  • They all embrace change

  • They have a strong reasoning ability

  • They have strong values

  • They have a strong work ethic

  • They are keen on personal development, not just “climbing the corporate ladder”

  • They appreciate negative feedback.  They do not take it personally, but see it as an opportunity for development

  • They are not afraid to say that they do not know the answer to a question
