Believing in Yourself for Success! - Part 1

Believing in Yourself for Success! - Part 1

I read this on Nike’s Twitter thread and loved it: “Don’t believe you have to be like anybody to be somebody.”

Have you ever noticed how many successful people believe in themselves and how their internal self- belief appears to make them realise their aims?

I’ve spent time thinking about myself and my job recently, as the Covid-19 pandemic continues to play havoc with so many lives, businesses and the world economy.  I concluded that we will only manage the numerous challenges we face if we believe in ourselves first!

If we don’t believe in ourselves, how can we expect others to believe in us?

To succeed in our roles, we must first believe in the notion and have belief in ourselves.   If we believe in the idea, then we will be able to convince others that the objective can be achieved, and they will trust us as leaders.

It is important to get out of our comfort zones, do not let a lack of confidence shake your resolve to succeed.  Overcoming the anxiety of facing any new challenge helps us to develop the ability to overcome obstacles and to build on our internal self-belief.   So, when faced with something new, ask yourself “Am I talented enough to do this? Can this project really succeed? “Only by answering, yes, to each of these questions will you be successful.

Keep going!

Remember that we may make some mistakes along the way, but we will also do so many things well and should dwell on the positives to encourage further success. Believing in yourself will put you on the first rung of the ladder to success. Sometimes the big picture can be daunting! Breaking things down into smaller measurable objectives, will allow us to assess things along the way and encourage us as individuals and endorse our self-belief.  This becomes infectious and trust in us will develop self-belief in our colleagues too.  Remember, believing in yourself does not mean that you will not fail, you will, but self-belief will help you to focus on your vision and get you to where you want to go.

In the next part of the article, we can look at inspiring yourself and dealing with negativity.  Would you like to know more about your own personality?  Why not take advantage of our free personality profile?  You can learn so much about yourself.  Go to our landing page where you can access the free service and also watch our video about personality profiling.
